Right around the corner from Ceol. Laid-back vibe that can get lively when there’s music.
22 Martin St
Our preferred liquor store — with a bar inside. Excellent selection of wine, beer, and spirits. There are always wines by the glass alongside conservas, chips, and snacks. Friendly staff who know their stuff.
1099 S Virginia St
Best cocktails in Reno — most innovative at least. Worth going just to see what’s on the menu.
955 S Virginia St
Great cocktails with a different vibe than Chapel. Both are worth a visit if you’re into craft drinks.
26 Cheney St
Great bar, but prices reflect it. Go knowing what you’re getting into.
809 S Center St
Tiki drinks for people who don’t think they like tiki. From the Death & Taxes crew — kitschy, fun, lots of pink. Looks like a West Elm vomited in the best possible way.
148 West St
Wine-focused bar downtown. Good list, relaxed atmosphere, easy to spend a couple of hours here.
Restaurants
Section titled “Restaurants”530 W Plumb Ln
Excellent Italian. Can get packed, but a single bar seat is usually doable — great spot for a glass of wine and a plate on your own.

Grab a seat at the bar. Great Japanese small plates, BBQ bites, or ramen — all done well.

Tapas-style plates drawing from cuisines around the world. Decent cocktails and a great happy hour.

Killer burgers. Waits can be long — go early.

Hands down the best Chinese food in Reno. Take out is always an option.

Good Mexican with a strong mezcal and tequila program.

Thai spot worth knowing about. Flavorful, unpretentious, consistently good.
